Emergency Medical Technician - Lead Instructor

Job Description– Emergency Medical Technician Lead Instructor

Description: The Lead Instructor position provides instruction to Emergency Medical Technician
students. Instructor should be knowledgeable in a vast number of topics including Cardio Pulmonary
Resuscitation, EMS Roles and Responsibilities, Legal Issues, documentation, anatomy/physiology,
body systems.

Responsibilities:
• Prepares lesson plans and schedule.
• Prepares and conducts lectures.
• Delegates duties and responsibilities to other staff members.
• Administers quizzes and exams.
• Documents student/staff attendance.
• Completes log book entry.
• Ensures safety of students and other staff members.

Minimum Requirements:
• Current American Heart Association CPR Instructor.
• Current Illinois Paramedic and/or Registered Nurse.
• Good Standing with your Resource Hospital.
• 5 years of prehospital/clinical care experience.
• Current EMS Lead Instructor I license issued by IDPH.

Emergency Medical Technician - Assistant Lead Instructor

Job Description: Emergency Medical Technician Assistant Lead
Instructor

Description: The Assistant Lead Instructor position provides instruction to Emergency Medical
Technician students. Instructor should be knowledgeable in a vast number of topics including Cardio
Pulmonary Resuscitation, EMS Roles and Responsibilities, Legal Issues, documentation, anatomy/
physiology, body systems.

Responsibilities:
• Acts as Lead Instructor when Lead is absent.
• Prepares and conducts lectures.
• Practical setup.
• Administers quizzes and exams.
• Documents student/staff attendance.
• Completes log book entry.
• Ensures safety of students and other staff members.

Minimum Requirements:
• Current Illinois Registered Nurse, Paramedic, and/or EMT
• Good Standing with your Resource Hospital.
• 5 years of prehospital/clinical care experience.

Emergency Medical Technician - Rookie

Job Description: Emergency Medical Technician Rookie

Description: The Rookie position provides mentoring to Emergency Medical Technician students.
Rookie should be knowledgeable in a vast number of topics including Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation,
EMS Roles and Responsibilities, Legal Issues, documentation, anatomy/physiology, body systems.

Responsibilities:
• Assists Lead and Assistant Instructors where needed.
• Helps to setup and complete practicals.
• Knowledgable of practical exams and medical devices.
• Disinfects medical equipment and ensures proper working order.
• Organizes equipment and properly secures medical props.
• Ensures safety of students and other staff members.

Minimum Requirements:
• Current American Heart Association CPR Instructor.
• Current Illinois Emergency Medical Technician.
• Good Standing with your Resource Hospital.
• 2 years of prehospital/clinical care experience.

Emergency Medical Technician - Director of Training/Course Coordinator

Job Description: Emergency Medical Technician
Director of Training/Course Coordinator

Description: The Director of Training/Course Coordinator provides support and logistics to the Lead
Instructor, Assistant Instructor, and the Rookie. The Director/ Coordinator should be knowledgable in
a vast number of topics including Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation, EMS Roles and Responsibilities,
Legal Issues, documentation, anatomy/physiology, body systems.

Responsibilities:
• Prepares lesson plans and syllabus.
• Scheduling of classes and outline.
• Prepares and conducts lectures.
• Designs quizzes and exams.
• Day to Day operations.
• Quality control and evaluations.
• Payroll, invoices, finances.
• Student/staff record keeping.
• Delegates duties and responsibilities to other staff members.
• Documents student/staff attendance.
• Completes log book entry.
• Ensures overall safety of students and staff members.

Minimum Requirements:
• Current American Heart Association CPR Instructor.
• Current Illinois Paramedic and/or Registered Nurse.
• Good Standing with your Resource Hospital.
• 20 years of prehospital/clinical care experience.
• Current EMS Lead Instructor I license issued by IDPH.
