Our Instructors are industry professionals that respond to medical emergencies everyday. First Five instructors have over 75 years experience in Emergency Medical Services. All of our instructors were EMT-B students at one time or another and have all sat where you are sitting. We are dedicated to your success by providing patient assessment skills and the needed lessons too successfully pass the National/State Licensing Exam.
Chris Hansen
Director of Training
Chris Hansen is currently employed as a Firefighter/Paramedic with the Chicago Fire Department. Chicago responds to over 700,000 calls a year. He has been licensed as a Paramedic in Illinois since 1996. Emergency Medical Technician since 1994.
Instructor Hansen has taught Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-B) in an adult learning environment for about 13 years. He is a EMS Lead Instructor licensed with Illinois Department of Public Health and a American Heart Association CPR/First Aid Instructor.
Ted Sullivan
Instructor/IT Director
Ted Sullivan started off at First Five as a behind-the-scenes guy, starting with the website and growing into becoming the IT Director. Ted was convinced to take his talents a step farther, and step in front of the classroom.
Ted obtained his EMT license in 1998 while attending college and working for the local county fire department. Ted took that license and got hired on the Chicago Fire Department. Within his 22 year career has rose to the rank of Lieutenant/EMT, has earned several awards, is an American Heart Association CPR/First Aid Instructor, a Red Cross CPR/First Aid Instructor, an ECSI CPR/First Aid, Wildland FIrst Aid Instructor, and Illinois EMS Lead Instructor.
